Mental Health & ADHD Assessment Process
Integrative Psychiatric Evaluation Process
My evaluation process is designed to give you a thoughtful, in-depth, and truly holistic understanding of your mental health, helping uncover the full picture of what supports or challenges your well-being.
As an integrative psychiatric nurse practitioner, I look beyond symptoms alone, assessing mental health, physical health, nutrition, lifestyle factors, stress response patterns, sleep, hormones, gut health, past medical history, lab trends, and other contributors that may influence mood, anxiety, energy, attention, sleep, and overall well-being.
Intake Forms & History
Before your first appointment, you will complete a detailed intake form and upload all recent lab results (and past, if available, for trend analysis). Lab results can be faxed or uploaded through the Spruce app once you've downloaded it and connected with our practice. The information you provide is a vital part of your evaluation and the foundation of truly personalized care. Unlike most practices, I review every detail in advance—conducting an in-depth pre-visit analysis to identify patterns, potential underlying contributors, and areas that may be influencing your symptoms. I spend a considerable amount of time thoughtfully reviewing your medical history, lab trends, and current health factors to prepare a tailored summary and framework for your care. Providing thorough and accurate intake information enables me to make the most of this process—allowing your appointment time to focus on what truly matters: understanding who you are, fostering trust and connection, interpreting findings in a meaningful way, and developing a plan that reflects your individual needs and goals. This preparation ensures that our 90-minute initial visit is dedicated to my learning about who you are, reviewing your health and lifestyle factors, interpreting relevant findings, answering questions, and working collaboratively to guide next steps, rather than spending most of that time gathering and regurgitating background information. My goal is to ensure our time together is both meaningful and productive.
Between appointments, I continue to review any new labs, relevant evidence-based research, refine treatment recommendations, and develop individualized education documents to support ongoing progress. Treatment may include tailored nutritional strategies, targeted supplementation recommendations, medication management, psychotherapy approaches, and lifestyle-based interventions that support long-term mental and physical health.

ADHD Assessment
If ADHD is a primary concern, a structured, evidence-based evaluation will be completed. Depending on individual needs and clinical complexity, this may take 2–3 follow-up visits. This process includes diagnostic assessment, education, and discussion of treatment options. If you have had a prior ADHD evaluation elsewhere, those records are welcome for context, but a full ADHD evaluation must still be completed here to ensure accuracy and safety.
For patients age 40+ or those with a personal or family history of cardiac problems, a recent EKG (within the last 24 months) is required when considering stimulant medication. If results are abnormal, medical clearance may be needed before prescribing. EKGs are typically completed through your primary care provider, and I'm happy to provide a request letter if needed. Alternatively, you can visit walk-in clinics that offer EKG services.
When diagnostic criteria are met and required labs/EKG are completed, medication is typically initiated between the third and fifth visit. However, timelines do vary based on individual circumstances and other comorbidities.

Lasting change takes time. Progress is most meaningful and sustainable when changes are introduced in stages, allowing your body and mind to adapt gradually while building on each layer of improvement. My role is to guide this process with clinical expertise, thoughtful intention, and compassion, serving as both a partner and advocate in your mental health journey by helping you uncover patterns, restore balance, and cultivate lasting mental and whole-body well-being.
